ALMOND. FUDGE. GREEN APPLE. FRESH APRICOT. BODY-ODY-ODY

Those of you who have been part of the GWGC clan for a while now will probably know that we've not bought from Aracelly before, so we are super excited to share our first-time purchases with you all - and in classic GWGC fashion, we have opted to do things a little differently, so are incredibly proud to offer three separate lots to showcase different processing methods and varieties.

This washed wonder brings the body with big chewy feels complimented by that citric acidity we love to find in the cup.

The information that we were sent about Aracelly reads like a fairy tale, and since we've got three different coffees on offer from Aracelly, we thought we'd treat you to a little story time split over three parts spread across each listing for each lot available.

So, are you sitting comfortably?

Then we'll begin with Part 1, written by Lindsay Coe:

The lush and foggy town of Frailes, nestled in the hills of central Costa Rica, is full of friendly faces. Doña Aracelly’s softly-weathered face stands out as one of the brightest.

As she walks down the street, locals honk, run, and slam on their brakes just to say good morning. It’s clear why she is such a trusted soul in her community - from volunteering her time to kick-starting fundraisers in Frailes, she gives back to her neighbors generously...

Aracelly Washed Aeropress Recipe
If you’re already feeling those wintery woes, brew yourself up a little taste of sunshine with this lovely and delicate, green apple Aeropress recipe for Aracelly’s Washed coffee. This easy brew still gives great body but is super mellow and just leaves you feeling ~nice~.

Aeropress Recipe (Inverted Method)
35g medium-coarse ground coffee (SLIGHTLY coarser than typical Aeropress recipe)
300g water total (150g in cup/150g in chamber)
*we brewed ours at 94° and used two filter papers

Step-by-Step:
1. Pre-wet your Aeropress filter over your chosen vessel (this pre-wets your filters, and also preheats your cup).
2. Preheat your inverted Aeropress chamber, too, and be sure to empty both the chamber and the cup before you begin.

3. Put the 35g of coffee in the aero chamber, gently shake the Aeropress to ensure your dry coffee is flat and evenly distributed.
4. Pour 150g water into your chosen vessel and put to the side.
5. Pour all 150g water into the Aeropress chamber, evenly covering the coffee grounds.
6. Stir with paddle for 15 seconds, and then add a final boost of turbulence by swirling the chamber for an additional 5 seconds- this should bring you to around 30 seconds in total.
7. At 30 seconds, flip onto cup (that already holds 150g hot water) and begin slow, steady plunge, applying consistent weight. Total plunge time should take around 30 seconds, bringing the entire brew time to 1 minute.
8. Enjoy!
