This one's for our funky friends. The people who want a little sparkle in their cup. You've tried her before and you loved her and now Wubit Bekele is back.
This Ethiopian natural process, light roast is bringing strawberry, jasmine tea and watermelon to your morning.
Wubit is the founder of Ephtah Coffee. After spending many years working for one of Ethiopia's largest coffee exporters, she set up Ephtah with a clear aim: to empower women farmers and break down the barriers that hold them back. As a Q Grader, she personally cups every single lot that Ephtah buys and exports.
Wubit was born in Nekempte, a major coffee town in Western Ethiopia. After growing up in Addis Ababa and graduating from Mizan Tepi University, she went straight into the coffee sector. It didn't take long before she recognised the potential of the industry and decided to build something of her own.
Wubit believes strongly in the potential of Ethiopia's coffee sector and is convinced that with a holistic approach and genuine partnerships, coffee can be a real driver of change across the country.
Ephtah was established to build sustainable, collaborative supply chains that work for everyone involved, customers, farmers and their wider communities. Promoting the role of women in the industry sits at the heart of everything they do, because they see women as the main driver of positive social and economic change in Ethiopia.
As Ephtah put it: "Our passion is delivering fantastic coffee whilst improving the lives of the people in the communities we work in."
We are incredibly proud to work with women like Wubit. She is consistently producing extraordinary coffee whilst championing Ethiopian women and showcasing everything the country's coffee scene has to offer.
If you're after something a little different, something bright, funky and genuinely exciting in your cup, this is it.
