Who are Girls Who Grind Coffee?

We are Girls Who Grind Coffee, a specialty coffee roastery based in the South West of England. We exclusively source and roast coffee grown by women producers from across the world - because women make up 70% of the global coffee workforce but rarely own or profit from it. We're here to change that.

Where is Girls Who Grind Based?

We're based in Wiltshire, in the South West of England, where all of our coffee is roasted.

What makes Girls Who Grind Coffee different?

Every single coffee we roast is grown by a woman farmer. Not some of them - all of them. It's the one rule we never break. That means every cup you drink directly supports women in coffee-producing countries around the world.

Where does your coffee come from?

We source from women producers across the World - from Brazil and El Salvador to Ethiopia and beyond. Every bag lists the producer by name so you know exactly whose hands grew your coffee.

Is your coffee ethically sourced?

Yes. Ethical sourcing is at the heart of everything we do. We work directly with women farmers and cooperatives, ensuring fair prices and transparent supply chains. Every purchase supports women in coffee-growing communities worldwide. Learn more about our sourcing philosophy here

What does 'specialty coffee' mean?

Traditionally, the industry defined "specialty" by a single number: a score of 80 points or above on a 100-point scale.

At Girls Who Grind Coffee, we’ve never believed a score could tell the whole story. We’ve always taken a holistic approach, looking beyond the cup to the social practices, sustainability, and the incredible women behind the beans.

We’re glad to see the rest of the industry is finally catching up.

The Specialty Coffee Associations updated definition now reflects what we’ve known all along. That true specialty coffee isn't just about sensory attributes, but about value, consistency, and the positive impact on everyone who produces and enjoys it. For us, specialty coffee is about doing things properly at every stage, and that includes who we choose to work with. We proudly source exclusively from women producers, supporting equity in an industry where their work is often overlooked.
